Key:
Italicized Songs- 1st week losing CML Points with a decrease in airplay on one of the charts
Italicized and Underlined Songs- 2nd straight week losing CML Points with a decrease in airplay on one of the charts
"All 3" Songs- 3rd straight week losing CML Points with a decrease in airplay on one of the charts or not present on either the Billboard or Mediabase Chart for the 2nd straight week; this is the song's final week on the charts
For #1 songs, the number of weeks spent at #1 is listed in () in the Peak column

CML Points:
Each week, each song collects CML Points based on the following:

Up to 70 points in Chart Points.  Songs get 5 points for each appearance on the Billboard and Mediabase charts, up to 45 points.  At certain times, a song can be voted on to be given a Star.  Once they have a star, they have 50 Chart Points.  Then, the songs can be voted on to gain more stars, up to a total of 5.  Each new star gives the song an additional 5 Chart Points, up to the maximum 70 points.  Visit the CML Chart Interactive page on the CML Chart Blog for more details on how songs earn more stars.

Up to 10 points for their current MediaBase chart position.  #1 gets 10, #2 gets 9.9, etc., with each song getting 0.1 less points the further down the chart they are.  The only exception to this is if a song was in the Top 50 at one point, but is no longer. In this case, they receive 4.9 points, which is the equivalent of being at #51.  Songs outside the Top 50 that show up in the "Greatest Increased Spins" section of the MediaBase chart will receive points based upon their last known position until they enter the Top 50 or until they are removed from the CML Chart.  If a song has not been on the Mediabase chart at all, it will receive 0 points.

Up to 10 points for their current Billboard Chart Position.  #1 gets 10, #2 gets 9.9, etc., with each song getting 0.1 less points the further down the chart they are. The only exception to this is if a song was in the Top 30 at one point, but is no longer and I do not know its current position. In this case, they receive 6.9 points, which is the equivalent of being at #31.  Songs whose current position is not known will get points based upon its peak position listed on Wikipedia if it never made the Top 30.  If a song has not charted on the Billboard chart, it will receive 0 points.

Up to 10 points for an increase in Spins, 5 for each chart.  If a song has lost airplay on a chart, it will lose 2 points for each "week in a row" on that chart.  Songs can earn negative points if they have lost airplay for 3 weeks or more, but most songs tend to only lose it for three weeks straight before being removed from the airplay charts or this chart. Songs who are not in their 8th week or longer on the chart will not lose points.  Once a song hits its 8th week, then this section applies to the song. Songs who receive an increase in airplay, regardless of any previous week, will receive the full 5 points.

Notes:

"Album cuts" or Christmas Songs will not count towards the chart.  A song has to be listed as an official single in order to get points each week.  This clears up clutter when an artist released an album and has several songs charting that week.

Songs will be removed after three straight weeks of a loss in points and a decrease in spins on either or both of the charts.  The only exception will be if the song has been on the charts for less than 10 weeks.

Songs will spend a minimum of 10 weeks on the chart. This will help clear up a song that bounces on and off the charts for a while and keep it as part of the formula until it either catches on or is sure not to be successful.  It also allows for a broader range of songs to be on the chart, especially in December when Christmas songs dominate the charts and limit the number of singles I can have on the chart at once.
